So the same people deciding how many teachers your school gets are the same people who gave Eskom a bonus. Sleep tight. At least nobody is asking your parents for R40 000 a year for "campus development" and a new astroturf. But here is the thing, Cape Flats schools do not get enough credit. You are not learning in some cosy Southern Suburbs bubble where the biggest drama is whether the tuck shop has the right flavour Nik Naks. You are navigating real life from day one. These kids come out tougher, sharper, and with more street sense than any R50k-a-year school in Constantia will ever teach behind their electric fence. Overall verdict: criminally underfunded and criminally overpacked, but it is producing kids who are going to outwork everyone who had it easier, and that is not nothing.
