Orania. ORANIA. Broe, you chose to go to school in Orania. That is not a location, that is a lifestyle choice. The whole town has 91 learners and somehow they all ended up in the same school, which makes sense because there is literally nowhere else to go. You could not even bunny from school because where are you going to run to? The Gariep River? A tumbleweed? That learner to educator ratio is 5.7 to 1. FIVE POINT SEVEN. That means your teacher knows exactly what you got for every single test, remembers what your handwriting looks like, and has personally watched you fail the same sum three times. There is no hiding at the back of the class in Orania. There IS no back of the class. Your teacher is basically your tutor, your coach, your guidance counsellor, and the person who tells your parents everything at the same braai that evening. And then the school description says it does not offer boarding facilities, which is honestly the funniest thing I have ever read. Boarding facilities. In Orania. Where would you even board FROM? You live there, china. Everyone lives there. You wake up, you are already at school, you go home, you are already at the braai. The whole town is the boarding house. Overall verdict: Smallest school in the driest town in the Northern Cape, but with a 5.7 to 1 ratio your matric results are probably carrying harder than most schools three times the size.
