The government looked at this situation and said yes, this is fine, carry on. And listen, no-fee school is genuinely a good thing, we are not roasting the kids for that, but it does mean the school is running entirely on vibes and whatever the WCED's North West cousin could scrape together from a budget meeting that probably happened during load shedding stage 4. Sixteen teachers for 630 learners in Itsoseng. That teacher is not teaching, that teacher is surviving. Every morning they walk in, see 39 faces looking at them, and quietly make peace with their life choices. Co-ed, primary phase, doing the Lord's work with basically nothing. You have to respect the hustle even if the system absolutely does not. Those 16 teachers deserve a bonus, a holiday, and a very strong cup of tea. Overall verdict: The school is basically carrying the whole community on sixteen pairs of tired shoulders, which is honestly impressive and also a national embarrassment at the same time.
