Very on brand for a Christian school to name themselves after an emotional breakdown. And Vanderbijlpark, eish, that place hits different hey. You are not in Sandton, you are not in Constantia, you are in the Vaal with the steel works and the Sunday afternoon vibes where nothing is open and everyone is either at church or at Spur. Now listen, 229 learners and 25 teachers, that is a 9.2 to 1 ratio. Nine kids per teacher. NINE. Bru that is basically homeschooling with a uniform. There is nowhere to hide. You cannot sleep in the back row, you cannot copy from your neighbour, your teacher is basically your life coach whether you want one or not. That ratio is so small that the teacher knows your mom's name, your dad's car, and exactly what you had for lunch. The tuck shop lady probably writes you a personal note. And then the matric pass rate is 86.5 percent, which is actually decent, but with nine kids per teacher if you are one of the 13.5 percent who did not pass, my friend, that is a very specific and personal failure. The teacher looked you in the eyes every single day for twelve years and still could not get you over the line. That is a whole sermon right there. Overall verdict: Watershed is basically a very intense small group Bible study that somehow also teaches maths, and honestly, it is working better than it should.
