Springs Boys' High School. First of all, the name says "Boys'" but the school is co-educational. So they literally could not even decide what kind of school they are. That is not a identity crisis, that is a whole identity catastrophe. Somewhere a sign painter is crying. 875 learners and 46 educators at a 19 to 1 ratio, which honestly is not the worst thing in Gauteng. But Springs though. SPRINGS. The town so nice they named it after what everyone wants to do when they drive through it. Jy weet hoe is dit, you tell someone you go to school in Springs and they just nod slowly like you said something sad at a funeral. The East Rand is a vibe, but Springs is more like a vibe that load shedding forgot to turn back on. Now that 97.6% matric pass rate is genuinely impressive and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Almost everyone got through. Almost. That 2.4% is still out there somewhere, probably standing at a taxi rank wondering what happened. But nearly 97 out of every 100 kids walked out with a certificate, which means the teachers are doing something right even if the town name sounds like a mattress advert. Overall verdict: Springs Boys' High is the school that cannot decide if it is for boys or everyone, sits in a town that sounds like a hardware store, but quietly produces results while the rest of Gauteng is still talking about it.
