That is actually not bad, until you realise the school named itself "Star" and then had the audacity to only get 98.1% in matric. One person failed, bru. ONE person. At a school called Star College. Somewhere out there is a kid who will forever be known as the person who let down an entire institution's identity. The teachers must have had a meeting. "We are the Stars. We are in Pretoria. How did we let this happen." Now listen, 506 learners is a cute little number. That is not a school, that is a big family reunion with a tuck shop. In Pretoria of all places, where everything is either a government building or a Spur. You are telling me this combined school, co-ed, full phase, the whole package, and you fitting everyone into what sounds like a very confident name and a very modest headcount. Star College. Not Galaxy College. Not Constellation Academy. Star. Singular. Bold choice. But credit where it is due, 98.1% pass rate in this economy, with load shedding eating everyone's study time and Gauteng traffic making teachers late, that is genuinely impressive. The one kid who did not make it was probably just having a rough term, we have all been there. Overall verdict: A small school with a big ego and almost nothing to be embarrassed about, which is honestly the most Pretoria thing ever.
