And Maragon has the audacity to charge R94,200 for Grade 12, which is basically a small car, a year's worth of groceries, or approximately 47,000 rotis from the tuck shop. You are not sending your child to school, you are financing a lifestyle. At that price the uniform better come with a built-in generator because load shedding does not care how much your parents paid. Combined school, co-ed, private, Pretoria East. So basically this is where the Mooikloof parents drop off their kids in a double cab while wearing Oakleys on a Tuesday morning. The school sits in one of the fanciest security estates in Gauteng and somehow still charges you like they are paying off the mountain themselves. Except the mountain is in Cape Town, and Pretoria has the N4, the heat, and a very confident sense of self-importance. R94,200 for matric and you better believe those kids are walking out of there with a full IEB certificate, a Gap Year to Bali already booked, and absolutely no idea how to catch a taxi. Not a complaint, just an observation. If you got through this school, your parents loved you at a very specific price point. Overall verdict: Maragon Mooikloof is where Pretoria keeps its good intentions and its bank statements, and somehow both look impressive, but we respect the hustle.
