That name is longer than the school register and probably takes the whole first period just to say correctly at assembly. 338 learners and 40 educators. That is an 8.4 to 1 ratio, which means if you sneeze in class there are basically four teachers turning around to say "gesondheid" before you even find your hanky. You cannot get away with anything. You cannot sleep, you cannot pass a note, you cannot pretend you did not hear the question. There is one teacher for every eight of you. That is not a school, that is a supervision facility with desks. And the 100% matric pass rate, okay, fair enough, hats off, genuinely. But with that ratio, in a Gereformeerde school in Waverly, Pretoria, where the teachers outnumber the excuses, if you STILL failed they would probably have held a special prayer meeting just for your results. The Lord and eight staff members were watching you at all times. Passing was basically the only option. Overall verdict: Dirk Postma is essentially a very holy, very watchful school where failure is not spiritually permitted, but at least they deliver.
